Event Description
The Life and Legacy of Jim Henson Tour: Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m.
Wonders From His Workshop highlights some of the performance and design contributions Jim Henson and his collaborators have made to the world of puppetry. This exhibit features the technological advances behind "Fraggle Rock," "Labyrinth" and more. Come and experience past and current innovations that continue to inspire puppeteers and audiences around the world. The exhibit also features puppets, including Cookie Monster, Big Bird and characters from "Fraggle Rock." The exhibit is located in the Love Family Atrium and is on loan from The Henson Family Collection courtesy of The Jim Henson Legacy.
Puppeteer features many puppets that Henson performed and created, including Ernie, Rowlf the Dog, the La Choy Dragon, Dr. Teeth, The Swedish Chef, Bugsy Them and others. There is a special section dedicated to Kermit the Frog. The exhibit also features personal archival photographs, seldom seen designs and doodles, sketches, quotes and a behind-the-scenes video.
