Event Description

Visit The DeKalb History Center's many historic structures and the Archives and Museum Center to learn more about the county's history. At the Archives and Museum Center, housed in the Old Decatur Courthouse on the Decatur Square, visitors can research many local history topics, including genealogy and family history, cemeteries, historic homes and properties, and the Civil War and the Civil Rights movement in the DeKalb cities of Stone Mountain, Tucker and Dunwoody. The Historic Complex, located at Adair Park on West Trinity Place in Decatur, includes three antebellum structures: Benjamin Swanton House (the oldest building in Decatur), Biffle Cabin and Thomas-Barber Cabin, which are all open for tours by appointment.
