Event Description

This exhibit features works by Cesar Garduño, the son of a very traditional Mexican family with a deeply rooted culture. He was born in 1975 in Mexico City and developed an appreciation for the monuments in his city. Garduño's works reflect his studies of abstract art that uses geometric shapes and colors. He began experimenting with his designs by adding watercolors, acrylic paint, collages and ink to his sketches, thus breaking the rules of formal techniques in architecture. The exhibit is part of an ongoing collaboration between the Rialto Center for the Arts, Comer Art Advisory (a visual art consulting firm) and the Ernest G. Welch School of Art & Design at Georgia State University. The series transforms the Rialto lobby and mezzanine into an exhibition space.
