Event Description

This exhibit features works by Atlanta artist Fabian Williams. In a recent interview with GOOD Magazine, Williams described "Rockingwell" as a "remix of Norman Rockwell — his billboard for the GOOD Cities Project harkens back to a series he developed called 'Contraptions.'" The works in the series, of which there are dozens, play out like a narrative comic strip in the style of artist Rube Goldberg’s warped machine illustrations — but with Williams’ own political twists. The exhibit is part of an ongoing collaboration between the Rialto Center for the Arts, Comer Art Advisory (a visual art consulting firm) and the Ernest G. Welch School of Art & Design at Georgia State University. The series transforms the Rialto lobby and mezzanine into an exhibition space.
