Event Description
In an effort to educate visitors about the past and create a dialogue about its significance today, this museum presents exhibits that are focused on World War II and the Holocaust.
Parallel Journeys: World War II and the Holocaust tells the stories of 40 teenagers who were witnesses, participants or victims of the brutal conflict of WWII.
V for Victory: Georgia Remembers World War II tells the story of the home front as well as the battlefield, including information about the rise of totalitarianism, how local Georgia companies got involved in war-time production, new opportunities that surfaced in the workforce for women and African Americans, and the emotional and empowering stories of Georgia's WWII men and women.
The Butterfly Project honors the Jewish children who perished in the Holocaust with 1.5 million hand-crafted butterflies, one for each child victim.
Local Heroes: Honoring the Greatest Generation is a rotating exhibit that tells the stories and experiences of local veterans who bravely served the United States.
The Power of Propaganda is an exhibit illustrating the use of propaganda during WWII by both the Allied and Axis Powers.
The Tuskegee Airmen: The Segregated Skies of World War II explores the history and heroism of the first African American pilots to fly in combat during WWII.
