Event Description

This monthly event introduces you to the story of Atlanta with free history and cold beer at a different historic spot in the city each month. In April, Atlanta History Center is taking you to its Smith Family Farm to learn about the unique culture and history of Southern food. Charleston-based food writer, photographer and blogger Brys Stephens will be on hand to discuss his latest book, "The New Southern Table: Classic Ingredients Revisited." Stephens will talk about the importance of food and cooking in Southern culture while museum interpreters prepare recipes from "The New Southern Table" in the farm kitchen. Guests can also enjoy two cash bars and food available for purchase from the Freckled & Blue food truck, a live demonstration from ornamental blacksmith Mackenzie Martin, a candle-dipping station, 1860s lawn and parlor games, free s’mores, live music and more!
