Event Description
Closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
This museum, which opened on December 15, 1999, the 60th anniversary of the "Gone With the Wind" premiere in Atlanta, features docent-led tours of the apartment where Margaret Mitchell wrote the book, a movie exhibition, and an exhibition showcasing the life and times of one of America's most famous authors. Your experience at this historic site ends with an opportunity to enjoy the Museum Shop, complete with unique gifts, souvenirs, and "Gone With the Wind" collectibles and memorabilia. Tours of the house are given every half hour Monday through Saturday with the first tour at 10:30 a.m. and the last tour at 4:30 p.m., and on Sunday with the first tour at 12:30 p.m. and the last tour at 4:30 p.m.
